Manufacturing Wastewater Treatment Case Studies
Latex Paint Manufacturing Wastewater Treatment Ability Test
This Waste Water Treatability test was conducted on August 10, 2006. The company was looking for an alternative to their current Ferric Sulfate, Lime, and DE chemical process for treating their wastewater. Our one, nonhazardous product, Floccin™ 1107, worked best for their particular application vs. the traditional treatment chemistry mentioned above.

The initial pH of the wastewater was between 6.8 and 7.0. We used 2 grams of Floccin™ 1107 per 1000 ml jar of wastewater. The wastewater reacted quickly, mixing for 2 minutes. Adding the Floccin™ 1107 dropped the pH to a 6.3, caustic (20% solution) was then added bringing the pH back up to a neutral state (7.0). 2 grams of Floccin™1107 is equal to 16 lbs. per 1000 gallons to treat, and the Caustic was about 2 gallons per 1000 gallons treated. This represented a cost savings of approximately 50% to pre-treat their wastewater.
