Manufacturing Wastewater Treatment Case Studies
Metal Polishing Wastewater Treatment Test
Integrated Engineers, Inc. conducted a treatability test for a facility that polishes stainless steel.
We were asked to assist them in meeting their local discharge requirements as the flocculent they had been using was not working sufficiently.
The initial pH of the wastewater upon arrival was 7.0. 3.0 grams of Floccin™ G was used per 1000 ml jar of wastewater. After mixing for 10 minutes, the floc formed was superior with excellent water clarity. Below, analytical results show that Floccin™ G brought Lead, Copper and Zinc levels down well below discharge requirements vs. prior treatment method.

| Metals | Old Method | Treated w/Floccin G | Local Requirements |
|---|---|---|---|
| Copper | 160 ug/L | No Detect | 27.7 ug/L |
| Lead | 11.4 ug/L | No Detect | 3.79 ug/L |
| Zinc | 33 ug/L | 99 ug/L | 115 ug/L |
